Simi Bhaurla

I have worked with children in school-settings providing support to children with mental health struggles. I also work with adults who have endured trauma and abuse (physical, sexual, verbal, and emotional abuse, substance use, and severe and persistent mental illness). My work particularly emphasizes solution-focused and strengths-based modalities. Other therapeutic modalities I utilize are Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy (ABA), and Seeking Safety.

I specialize in Autism, anxiety, depression, Bipolar I and Bipolar II Disorder, personality disorders, Schizophrenia and other related psychotic disorders, trauma-related disorders and racial trauma and oppression.

I am a mixed race, first generation graduate from a Master’s program. As a woman of color, I have endured different types of discrimination throughout my life in which I use those challenges to empower my clients. I also use my life experiences to validate clients in their own struggles and help them find their voice.
