Amanda Cortez

Owner, LMFT

My practice consists of working with adults, adolescents and children, providing individual, couples and family therapy. I am a clinical supervisor and consultant. My journey working in the mental health field began in 2006. My experience ranges from working in the non-profit sector, school districts, criminal mental health, hospital inpatient settings, domestic violence prevention, residential settings to private practice.
My treatment ranges from working with those who experience depression, sleep disorders, suicidal ideation, anxiety, parent-coaching, mood disorders, trauma, body positivity and nutritional psychology, blended families, martial and family conflicts and cultural differences. I work with a variety of individuals and treatment is contingent on set goals and outcomes that the individual would like to see. I am passionate about providing treatment for individuals who would like to explore parent-child attachment dynamics as adults, self-compassion in relationships with friends, intimate partners and/or family. I am trained in Brainspotting and I incorporate additional adjunct CBT and/or DBT techniques during treatment.
My goal is to build upon your strengths, personal growth, increase self-awareness and self-esteem. My personal style is an integrative approach utilizing a variety of treatment modalities, uniquely tailored to each individual's needs.
