Allison Mack
MS, AMFT, APCC
I am passionate about working with teens, adults, couples, and families navigating mood disorders, trauma, and relational and attachment issues. I am trained in EMDR.
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor with a passion for helping people grow and reach their goals. I gained most of my experience working with clients in Los Angeles where I completed my master's program and worked in different settings. I have several years of experience working with youth and adults in residential treatment centers and community mental health, including schools. These experiences allowed me to work with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, PTSD and complex PTSD, adoption, intergenerational trauma, family-related issues, conflict resolution, bullying, grief/loss, academic and career stress, identity formation, life transitions, and other concerns. I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, middle and older adults, families, and couples.
My approach is trauma-informed, strength-based, multiculturally sensitive, compassionate, and non-judgmental. At the core, I am a person-centered therapist, and I believe meaningful change occurs when individuals feel seen, heard, understood, supported, and accepted. I work to create a therapeutic relationship that encourages authenticity and trust, while supporting people in their growth and desire to change. It is important to me that people feel supported and emotionally safe in therapy, and I can also help you figure out how to get there.
I draw from different modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused therapy (EFT), Gestalt, Family Systems Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also have EMDR training from Professional Training in Southern California and have seen positive change in many adult clients. I tailor the therapy to your unique situation and what feels most helpful or effective for you. Whatever challenges you may be facing, it would be a privilege to walk alongside you.
