Erin Williams-McNish

MA, LMFT

I'm an LMFT licensed in California and Oregon with over 15 years of experience, specializing in trauma, PTSD, and anxiety.

I've been drawn to helping people for as long as I can remember. Early in my own life, I learned firsthand the value of asking for help and that experience shaped the kind of therapist I'd eventually become. I started college as a psych major, but I realized I needed to understand myself more before I could truly help others. That path led me to another helping profession for a while, until 16 years ago, when I found my way back to becoming a therapist.

Most of the adults I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma, often feeling stuck and unsure how to ease their symptoms and carrying shame or guilt on top of it, as if something is wrong with them. There's nothing wrong with you, and you don't have to figure this out alone.

I'm especially passionate about working with trauma and C-PTSD, particularly when it's connected to chronic illness, medical trauma, or childhood experiences. I believe healing means looking at the full picture: our family history and intergenerational patterns, how our family of origin shaped the coping strategies we developed, and how our brain and nervous system respond to adverse experiences. I use EMDR and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy to help reduce symptoms and open the door to new, more sustainable ways of coping.

In session, I'm very much myself warm, casual, and easygoing, with humor that's never at anyone's expense. I'm collaborative, active, and not afraid to admit when I'm wrong. My hope is that you leave with a deeper understanding and acceptance of yourself, real pride in your resiliency, and meaningful relief from what brought you in.

I'm also a licensed clinical supervisor and love mentoring new clinicians entering the field.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family including a sweet pit bull and a delightfully
naughty basset hound and getting lost in a good book or a good hike.

If this sounds like a good fit, I'd love to connect.
