Hanh Nguyen
Professional Counselor Associate
I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, and life transitions, with a focus on culturally responsive, anti-oppressive care.
As a first-generation Asian American and the daughter of Vietnamese immigrants, I understand firsthand the needs and systemic gaps people marginalized by dominant culture face when trying to access mental health care that actually fits them. My approach to therapy is collaborative, direct, and honest. Together we will look at how you can move into more alignment with, and accountability to, yourself and the communities you belong to. We will also look at how your various identities intersect, and how dynamics of power, privilege, and marginalization show up in your relationships and daily life.
I bring a person-centered foundation together with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, self-compassion, and mindfulness-based interventions, viewed through a feminist and multicultural lens. I have worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults, supporting people through anxiety, depression, acculturative stress, and major life transitions. I hold a particular passion for supporting women as they navigate identity and motherhood.
My goal is to create a space where you can show up honestly without having to translate or minimize parts of yourself. You bring the expertise on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you as you find more alignment with who you are and who you want to be.
