Caroline Stone
Psychiatric Nurse Practioner
I specialize in diagnosing mental health conditions and prescribing tailored medications and medication management services for clients.
I work with individuals of all backgrounds and origins. With over 5 years of experience in Mental Health I've learned that medicine is not one size fits all and I will work with you to develop a comprehensive personalized treatment plan. While my practice relies heavily on pharmaceutical treatment I believe the best approach to mental health is one that looks at the whole individual and incorporates different modalities including physical health and well being, therapeutic techniques, and mindfulness and meditation. I will meet you where you are in your mental health journey to help you achieve the best version of your true inner self through physical and emotional healing.
My passion for mental health has always been in serving the medically underserved. I started my journey in mental health as a Psychiatric Nurse working with incarcerated patients.
After receiving my MS in Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner I spent one month in a fellowship program where I worked with the HART program assisting those with HIV/AIDS in getting access to treatment. From there I continued my work in community health at a progressive neuropsychiatry center in Northern California where I specialized in complex neuropsychiatric disorders. I also partnered with our local Juvenile Correctional Facility to give our incarcerated adolescents access to mental health services. I worked with pre-teens/ teens suffering from ODD, Personality Disorders, suicidal/homicidal ideation, ADHD, Substance Use Disoder, and Drug Induced Psychosis.
My work with these complex populations has given me valuable insight in to the struggles these patients face allowing me to have an empathetic non-judgemental approach to care. My goal is to always have you leave with a positive experience where you feel heard, seen, and respected.
